Delfi Magazin für neue Literatur #2: Fleisch | Queer Festival 2024 | Karlstorbahnhof Heidelberg

In the organizer's words:

Delfi is a monothematic literary magazine that appears twice a year under the umbrella of Ullstein Publishers and brings together the most relevant international and German-language positions in prose, drama, poetry, essays and comics. The magazine is published by the authors and editors Fatma Aydemir, Enrico Ippolito, Miryam Schellbach and Hengameh Yaghoobifarah.

In the first issue of Delfi, we entered the temple, opened its doors and gates, now we are looking for the offerings, we are looking for shiny fabric. In most languages, there is not one but two meanings for flesh. The seemingly civilized, the dissecting, the culinary one: viande/meat. And the second, the physical, the lower, the creaturely: chair/flesh. Flesh is not a category, not a concept, flesh is desire fossilized in word and substance. It is seduction and projection surface. Flesh creates sensuality, it makes the world perceptible to us in sounds, haptics, optics, smells and tastes.

Hengameh Yaghoobifarah is a writer, journalist and DJ. The collection of essays "Eure Heimat ist unser Albtraum" (Your homeland is our nightmare), co-edited with Fatma Aydemir, was published in 2019, followed by her debut novel "Ministerium der Träume" (Ministry of Dreams) in 2021. Most recently, "Habibitus" was published, a collection of the taz column of the same name (2016-2022). Hengameh is a member of the editorial team at Missy Magazine.

Enrico Ippolito is a writer and journalist. In 2019 his short story Beleidigung was published in the anthology "Eure Heimat ist unser Albtraum", in 2021 his debut novel Was rot war and in 2023 Hunde in "Das Wetter Buch für Text und Musik". He lives in Berlin.

Bär Kittelmann is an interdisciplinary Berlin-based artist, currently focusing on sound and graphic design, as well as illustration and comics. He radically puts fun first and is not interested in the rules and limits of artistic design. It is much more about perceiving and acknowledging these, in order to ultimately break with them. A playful, cross-genre style is key to his artistic practice and reflects his approach to his lived experiences as a Black, queer trans person.
