Departure into the unknown

A space adventure story for the whole family, produced exclusively for planetariums, in which popular characters are confronted with new adventures and challenges. Exciting topics such as space travel, climate change and our future life in space are addressed.

Before we embark on our adventure, the planetarium tells us about satellites that orbit the earth and provide us with lots of information about the weather, for example. The planetarium's young and old guests are also told interesting facts about current missions to the moon.

But now to the story: In the year 2053, teenagers Tom and Stella are training on board Space Camp 1. Tom is preparing for his first spacewalk. This is postponed when Tom's father is called back to Earth because of a massive hurricane. Tom's father needs Tom and Stella's help from Earth: a weather satellite that is crucial for monitoring the hurricane is out of order. Tom and Stella are the only team available who can get it up and running in time to save lives...

Together with their robot cat Plutinchen, Tom and Stella fly in their space racer to the moon, where robots are mining hydrogen needed to refuel the satellite. Suddenly, Plutinchen informs them that they have to dock the fuel tank to the satellite manually due to a malfunction. This means that Tom has to go on his first spacewalk, even though he doesn't feel ready for it. His father and the people on Earth are dependent on him and time is running out...
