The duo is an intimate, fragile and exciting form of musical interplay. In the concert series "The Art of the Duo", the art of the duo will be presented in various combinations. Temporary sound experiments, dialogs, dialogues, parallel developments or even three-dimensional sound formations are created.

Guests in #13: Fred Frith and gabby fluke mogul

Fred Frith is a composer, improviser and educator best known for reinventing the electric guitar, starting with Guitar Solos in 1974. He learned his craft in rock bands, notably the iconic band Henry Cow. He taught for many years at Mills College in Oakland, California and at the Musik Akademie Basel, where he co-directed the master's program in improvisation.

gabby fluke-mogul is a New York-based violinist, improviser, composer, educator, and doula. gabby is grateful to have worked with Nava Dunkelman, Joanna Mattrey, Ava Mendoza, Fred Frith, Zeena Parkins, and Pauline Oliveros. She leads workshops and curates programs for the Creative Music Studio, teaches at the New School and is currently Artist in Residence at Roulette in Brooklyn.

In Bremen, gabby and Fred play a fiddle trio with Johannes. Fred used to play the fiddle (and still does from time to time).
