Speeches & topic:
We address the problem that exceptional cultural spaces are increasingly disappearing due to crises or takeovers. Our community of owners aims to ensure their preservation and further development.

The ideal way to do this seems to be the foundation of a cooperative that strives to secure our culture and the opportunities associated with the expansion of the venue in the long term. It should also strengthen existing festivals and create space for new event formats. The cultural space will pursue a high standard of sustainability in order to promote both well-being and social cohesion.

The newly launched 'Freude e.G.' represents an innovative approach in Germany, as it integrates an entire event site, including the existing festivals, into a cooperative structure. This means a transition from individual to communal ownership with corresponding decision-making power.

Before we celebrate our official launch at Holzmarkt and online on 22.06.2024, we will start with a warm-up on Whit Monday with an open-air demonstration on the topic of communal ownership.

There will be numerous DJ gigs and smaller speeches. We will announce the exact location shortly in our new Telegram channel created for this purpose. The open air starts at 12:00 noon and we will celebrate until 22:00.
