Presentation in French with German subtitles

On the last Monday of every month, the Museum of Communication will be presenting a selected film on the occasion of the current exhibition STREIT! An Approach together with the Arthouse Cinemas. Always guaranteed to be controversial.

Following the film, Timo Gertler from the Museum of Communication will discuss the film with Thomas Winhold, trade union secretary of ver.di Hessen.

In Aden in the south of France, the Perrin Industrie plant, the only major employer in the region, is threatened with closure. Although the thousand or so employees had already made concessions on wages and working hours in order to keep their jobs, and despite record profits in the last balance sheet, the company, which now belongs to a German group, wants to close the plant. Together and in solidarity, the workers want to protest against the closure of the plant. Veteran trade unionist Laurent Amédéo is leading the strike. But the negotiations continue and the tone soon becomes rougher. A nerve-wracking struggle for survival ensues, which also sows discord among the employees. (Source: distributor)
