The Augustinermuseum presents its renowned collection of art from the Middle Ages to the Baroque as well as 19th century paintings. The former monastery church has been transformed into an impressive, modern museum building that offers surprising insights and views. Balconies, galleries and walkways, niches and windows turn a visit into an experience.
The exhibition hall in the basement is used by all of the Freiburg Municipal Museums and provides variety with a wide range of themes.
The House of Prints and Drawings, which opened in 2016, houses the print collections of the Augustinermuseum and the Museum für Neue Kunst: an ultra-modern building that meets all the needs of the sensitive objects. The temporary exhibition space presents three exhibitions a year.
