Import Export München

Import Export is a space for socioculture that presents concerts, workshops, readings, performances and festivals.

DE Import Export emerged from the Munich Central district project of the Münchner Kammerspiele in 2010. Following Munich Central, Kunstzentrat e.V. took over the venue, a former Turkish supermarket in Goethestraße at Munich Central Station, as an event location. Over the next three years, Import Export established itself as a socio-cultural institution and a meeting place for the city's music and culture scene.

In September 2014, Import Export moved to the Kreativquartier München and initially began operating as part of the Federkiel Foundation's Under (De)Construction art project.

For 11 years, Import Export has offered a space for artists, cultural workers, mediators and socially engaged people to work across genres and disciplines. It has become a place for experimentation and collective practices. With a focus on transnational collaborations, both local and international actors are presented.

In addition to music, the program also includes performing and visual arts as well as political and cultural education. Import Export also has a workshop for children and young people as well as a canteen serving vegan and vegetarian food.

With Import Export, Kunstzentrat e.V. aims to offer a permanent open space in the Kreativquartier where a wide variety of people are invited to meet and get involved. That is why racism, sexism and any kind of discrimination are not tolerated at Import Export. We believe in respectful cooperation and solidarity.

It has thus become an open space for free, collaborative creation full of transnational influences. The program includes music as well as other arts and political and cultural education. In addition, Import Export has a workshop for children and young people as well as a, predominantly vegan, canteen.

Import Export is intended to provide a permanently open space in which a wide variety of people are invited to participate together. Therefore, racism, sexism and any kind of discrimination will not be tolerated at Import Export. We believe in a respectful and solidary cooperation.
