PICK OF THE DAY

You cannot miss this event.

In the organizer's words:

🖤 Sweet Sixteen—The Club of Hearts is celebrating its birthday! 🖤

Joining us on Day #1 are:

ĠENN

Founded on the island of Malta and based in Brighton, the Anglo-Maltese band ĠENN consists of: Janelle Borg – guitar (she/her), Sofia Rosa Cooper – drums (she/her), Leona Farrugia – vocals (she/her), and Leanne Zammit – bass (she/her).

ĠENN sees itself as a sisterhood built on instinctive trust and an experimental fusion of multinational backgrounds, with the four members bringing Maltese, British, Jamaican, and Portuguese roots to the table.

Their bold geographical leap was reflected in their 2023 debut album “unum”—an album hailed as a daring journey through experimental rock, post-punk, and Mediterranean folk music. Notable praise from the press and radio came from BBC6, KEXP, Pitchfork, The Independent, Loud & Quiet, CLASH, Under the Radar, DIY, and The Line of Best Fit, while a co-produced video for the single “The Sister Of” also earned them a nomination for the UK Music Video Award. It’s hardly surprising that this led to numerous invitations to perform on international stages, including appearances at renowned showcase festivals such as Eurosonic (NL) and The Great Escape (UK), as well as tours with Sub Pop noise-rock heavyweights METZ, up-and-coming post-punk band Deadletter, and the global art collective Pussy Riot.

Die Steifen

Die Steifen are an art-punk band founded in the fall of 2023 by three musicians from Rheinhessen (Berlin, Frankfurt, Mainz) with roots in electronic music and black metal. The trio plays in a traditional yet minimalist style, with Charlotte from Les Trucs on the German-lyric mic, drummer Jonas (formerly of Menschenrest), and ex-Plus bassist Benni performing short pop-punk songs about discos, manslaughter, and facades. Family Fodder and Oma Hans are their inspirations, though music critics draw comparisons to Die Ärzte, Udo Lindenberg, and Ian McKaye. Die Steifen are fine with either, because a lighthearted approach plays the power chord best.

Die Steifen will release their first 4-track EP on Ichi Ichi and George Korea in the fall of 2025

FAILURE
No name-dropping, few references—just a focus on good times. Letting go whenever possible. The goal: to be yourself amid change, stress, and chaos. An attempt to channel oneself and one’s surroundings.
Scheitern tries to do all that and more on their own, balancing somewhere between “pretty okay” and “always trying their best.” Hopefully it all works out.
