26th DEW21 Museum Night on September 19, 2026 –One City. One Night. Countless Experiences.

Dortmund’s night of nights for art, culture, music, and experiences: This year, the DEW21 Museum Night once again brings together the full diversity of Dortmund’s cultural landscape—with special venues, exciting program highlights, and experiences for all generations.

For 26 years, the DEW21 Museum Night has been bringing people from Dortmund and the entire region together. What once began as a unique idea is now one of the largest and most popular cultural events in Dortmund and the surrounding area. Every year, thousands of visitors from Dortmund and the region experiencemuseums, cultural institutions, churches, parks, and many other extraordinary institutionsand locations in the city in exciting ways.

NumerousDortmund museums and cultural institutionsare taking part—including the Dortmunder U, the Museum of Art and Cultural History, the Dortmund Natural History Museum, the DASA, the German Soccer Museum, Phoenix des Lumières, and the Dortmund Concert Hall. In addition, unique venues such as Fire and Rescue Station 1 of the Dortmund Fire Department, the Dortmund Police Department, and the Dortmund Main Cemetery will open their doors, offering special insights. This year’s edition also featuresfour new venues: theWestfalenhaus, theDortmund Chamber of Crafts, thePublic Order Office, and theVokalmusikzentrum NRW.

With over500 events at around 40 venues, the DEW21 Museum Night offers an unparalleled program for all ages. In addition to exhibitions and a wide variety of guided tours, there are plenty of hands-on activities, shows, comedy, concerts, readings, performances, lectures, and interactive programs: The DEW21 Museum Night offers a diverse range of experiences both indoors and outdoors. With itsextraordinary variety of programs—both indoors and outdoors in downtown squares and throughout the city—itranksamong the region’s top events and, year after year, provides inspiring moments, exciting discoveries, and special encounters well into the night.

The highlight of the event is traditionally the grand finale atFriedensplatz. There,Radio 91.2—a long-time partner of the DEW21 Museum Night—presents thelarge open-air stage. Starting at 10:15 p.m.,Marquesswill bring a summery vibe to Dortmund with his unmistakable Latin pop and invite the audience to sing along, dance, and celebrate. The grand finale, starting at 11:45 p.m., will be aspectacular musical fireworks displayover the roof of City Hall.
