On November 10, 2025, we welcome Christoph Heusgen to Dortmund City Hall.
As a long-standing foreign and security policy advisor to German Chancellor Angela Merkel, former UN ambassador of Germany and head of the Munich Security Conference (2022-2025), Heusgen brings a unique perspective on international politics.

In a frank discussion, he takes a look at the future of multilateral cooperation and Germany's role in a changing world order. What does diplomacy mean in the 21st century? What room for manoeuvre remains for international organizations in times of nationalism and global crises?
