Action&Drama Improtheater: PLANLOS! - Der Improabend

In improvisational theater, stories emerge in the magic of the moment—without a script, but with plenty of creativity, spontaneity, and team spirit. There is no script, only the unbridled reign of spontaneous imagination. In this form of theater, every play and every scene that evening has its premiere and final performance at the same time. We want to show you just how hilariously funny, how exciting, and how touching improv theater can be—and how much more there is to it.

Our improv shows always consist of two halves:

In the first half, we present a long-form format to the audience. This means there’s a series of scenes that are connected in some way.

For the Kammertheater, the scenes always relate to the theater’s current main production. Sometimes characters reappear. Sometimes it’s “just” the venue.

What all long-form pieces have in common is that they leave room for the full spectrum of storytelling: breathless speed as well as quiet depth, absurd humor as well as surprisingly moving moments. Because there’s no predetermined plan in improv theater, anything can happen.

After the intermission, things get colorful, wild, and playful.
That’s when we’ll present you with a selection of popular improv games that ensembles all over the world use to thrill their audiences. Have you always wanted to see a scene where no one is allowed to use the letter “E”? Or one where the answer to every question must be sung? Or one where the audience controls the performers’ bodies? Then the second half is just the thing for you. Because that’s exactly what we’ll be doing—and much more. Get ready for the absolute reign of creative chaos.

Your ideas and our associations will give rise to stories both big and small—together, we’ll create what is sure to be a truly unique evening of improv theater in Leipzig.
