Acts 'n Sounds 19 – Resonances

With *Resonances* , Ensemble Garage continues its *Acts ‘n Sounds* concert series with its 19th edition, inviting audiences to a musical exploration of the delicate relationship between humans and the environment. Works by Øyvind Torvund, Olga Neuwirth, Haukur Þór Harðarson, and Malika Kishino, as well as new compositions by Shasha Chen and Annegret Mayer-Lindenberg, open up evocative soundscapes and invite the audience to pause and listen. 

With “Resonances,” we delve into the connection between humanity and its natural environment. The selected works explore ecological soundscapes and the fragile balance between preservation and destruction, human intervention, and the beauty of nature. Natural landscapes are transformed into sound—interwoven, lush, and fragile—urging us to reflect on our role within the ecosystems that sustain our lives. 

Resonances takes an interdisciplinary approach to one of the central ecological and social issues of our time. The ensemble views this project as a commitment to presenting music that does not distance itself from the social and ecological issues around us, but rather resolutely engages with the pressing issues of our time.

Since its founding in 2009, Ensemble Garage has been working at the intersection of contemporary music, transmediality, and performative formats. Through its concert series Acts ’n Sounds and numerous collaborations in Germany, Europe, and the U.S., Ensemble Garage builds international networks and generates innovative impulses for new music.

The concerts are supported by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, the Musikfonds, and the Kunststiftung NRW.
The concert in Heilbronn is presented in cooperation with the Förderkreis Neue Musik Heilbronn e.V.
