ALBINOBROTHERS

In the organizer's words:

Slow Club Freiburg presents:

ALBINOBROTHERS
Drone Blues in Cinemascope

It’s a spectacular take on “Jambayala” that the Berlin- and Dresden-based duo—consisting of TOBIAS WERNER (guitar, vocals) and RONNY WUNDERWALD (drums)— has been bringing to the stage since its founding in 2019.
“Primitive music,” mixed with a touch of poisoned exoticism.
Blues Noir in Cinemascope format.
Somewhere between the desert and the delta, somewhere between drone and psychedelia—the main goal of their music doesn’t seem to be to please people.

Rather, it’s about an honest approach, passion, and a longing for timelessness, which may stem from their (sub)cultural backgrounds in Americana, industrial, hardcore, blues, or even a marching band.
Their many years of experience in bands such as AMBUSH, GARDA, HELGA BLOHM DYNASTIE, etc., are reflected in their live performances, which can certainly hold their own against those of larger ensembles. The intensity of their set as a duo far exceeds the sum of the musicians on stage.

It is a interplay of beauty and grace in contrast to frenzied chaos.
Fragile, viscous, deceptive, loose, and sometimes raw.
Loving, rich in detail, and carefully situated in time and place.
It’s about attitude and purification, about self-knowledge and self-enchantment.
An audience might enjoy it. And that’s the best-case scenario.
ALBINOBROTHERS are like an aged whiskey, a sharpened blade… a seasoned euphoria.
