Stefan is a pilot, has a large apartment, a fast car and many lovers. When he loses his hearing and can no longer work, he clings to his old life: So Stefan puts on his pilot's uniform and picks up women in hotel bars. Julia and her husband Christian are spending a long weekend in Turin. When the couple find an injured street dog, Julia only cares about his recovery. A dinner with friends leads to a scandal. Tobias runs the household and looks after the three children, while his wife Maren provides for the family. This annoys him so much that the children repeatedly serve as an excuse for his stagnating studies. Then his father falls ill and Tobias realizes that life can't go on like this for his parents.
