Angelika Express (Indie Punk / Cologne)

Melody-loving indie punk, biting discourse pop and punchline-sure stage evenings with heart and attitude. The project around singer, guitarist and painter Robert Drakogiannakis has been at the center of the German-speaking underground for over two decades. Currently with a particularly explosive line-up: bassist Annick adds striking harmony vocals to the aggressive pressure, while drum monster Tscherno irons down everything that is screwed down.

The eleventh album VERZERRER was released on October 2025: a loud, sharply drawn work about harsh feelings, filter bubbles and distorted perception - packaged in anthemic noise, walls of guitars and a painted Willy Brandt on the cover. Live, the whole thing is a high-dose trio with attitude, wit and energy - somewhere between Hamburg school, '77 attitude and broken pop song.
