Is time travel possible? For Durga, the daughter of an Indian and a German, it looks like it is. She is catapulted from the year 2022, when she is supposed to be working on a film adaptation of the super-British Agatha Christie crime novels, to the year 1906, where she meets Indian revolutionaries who are by no means fighting non-violently like Gandhi.

Mithu Sanyal brings the whole world into German-language literature and opens up a wacky, funny and unsparing debate about colonialism when she asks about the violence in all of us.
