Artist Meets Archive #5: Artist Talk mit Viktoriia Tymonova und Lana Mesić

In July and August, the five artists participating in Artist Meets Archive #5 will be in Cologne as part of the International Photoszene to explore the various collections and archives. The resulting artistic projects will be presented during the Photoszene Festival in May 2027. But you can already get to know the artists now.

We’re excited to take stock of their progress on August 18 together with Viktoriia Tymonova and Lana Mesić. How do the artists use (visual) archives in their work? What role do political ideologies, collective myths, and memory play in this? And what have they discovered during the first weeks of their residencies? In conversation with Daria Bona, the two will provide insights into individual projects and share their first impressions from the archives.

During her residency, Viktoriia Tymonova is working with the Greven Digital Archive. Lana Mesić is a guest at the Fotowerkstätte Schmölz archive.
