How does a common language emerge in an artistic duo? And how do sound, power and material relate to each other? On November 21, 2025, Özlem Günyol and Mustafa Kunt will talk to director Stefanie Patruno about forms of protest, silent gestures and performative monuments as part of their exhibition "RATATATAA".

The artistic principle of the duo Özlem Günyol & Mustafa Kunt lies in the silent staging of socio-critical issues. With subtle humor and analytical precision, they expose mechanisms of power, representation, identity and belonging - and reduce complex themes to an aesthetic minimum. With "RATATATAA", the Städtische Galerie Karlsruhe is presenting the artist duo's first institutional solo exhibition. Transformation, repetition and superimposition are the common thread running through the exhibition, whose 30 works were created between 2008 and 2025.

The artist talk offers insights into the artist duo's joint working methods and the socio-political issues that shape their works. The evening will be complemented by a live performance by "Free Solo" and the presentation of the exhibition catalog. The talk will be held in English.
