It was only 13 years after her death that Astrid Lindgren's wartime diaries (1939 - 45) were found in the linen cupboard. Books in which the inventor of "Pippi Longstocking" or "Ronja the Robber's Daughter" reveals her political side, gives a name to the horrors of dictatorship and persecution and yet places all hope in a compassionate humanity. Documentary filmmaker Wilfried Hauke shows us the other Astrid.
