This September, I’ll be showing a few new drawings at Drei der Münze in Leipzig!
Over the past few years, I’ve done a lot of illustration—very small pieces. I didn’t really have anything suitable for the space. So I went back to some old drawings from ten years ago—they’re bigger now and have somehow evolved.
It’s funny how, after so many years, you end up back at the same place.

On the 8th, starting at 6:00 p.m., there’ll be a small opening party with a champagne reception.
That evening, @yabai.leipzig is hosting a pop-up—they’re reopening in September with vegan Japanese street food. Feel free to stop by!

I’m having a solo exhibition at a café in Leipzig!
I’ll be exhibiting about 20 drawings I created specifically for this event.

I’ve been working as an illustrator, and for the past few years I’ve been drawing mostly small pieces, so I haven’t really created any artwork that makes a strong statement on a wall or in a room.So, when I was invited to exhibit, I couldn’t find any paintings I felt I wanted (or was able) to show… After some trial and error, drawings I’d made about 10 years ago emerged as new works—somewhat larger and reflecting a certain growth. It’s really interesting to stick with one thing and have an experience like this, where you come full circle and return to the same place.

We’ll be hosting a small opening party on Tuesday, September 8, starting at 6:00 p.m. On that day, “Vegan Japanese Street Food @yabai.leipzig,” which is set to open in September, will be setting up a pop-up stand. Please come join us.
