hoodie-core is an aesthetic of gentleness, an attitude of defiance, a (not always) silent act of resistance against the growing social coldness. A hate defying response to a politics of division and cruelty; a love letter to the oppressed, the unseen and unheard, those afflicted by social coldness. The works are a reminder of how important it is to never let the omnipresent feeling of powerlessness prevail and to bring tenderness back into our social interaction. hoodie-core is a call for empathy and intense feeling as a survival technique, supported by the belief that vulnerability is a form of strength and that gentleness cannot mean retreat, but resistance. At its core is the realization that tenderness is also radically political. hoodie-core is a call to always strive for openness and remain sensitive, so that empathy becomes protest.
