Ensemble Adapter: Vis-à-Vis

Matthias Engler and Gunnhildur Einarsdóttir spent over a year trying to reconstruct a lost piece of music - Vis-à-Vis, jointly composed by John Cage, Toru Takemitsu and the performance duo "THE". The theater, in which they process the course of their search for traces, uses documentary means to take us on a journey back in time to a September evening in 1986 in San Diego, California. For a few moments, we feel: "It could have been like this!". Vis-à-Vis is a theater in which Engler and Einarsdóttir speak vis-à-vis with people, sharing the memory of a performance that was created vis-à-vis by various artists and which, because everything must remain speculation, eludes us in the end. A piece hardly only about music, but about the closeness and simultaneous rapture of the past.
