Weekly Chess Tournaments in Bremen!

Compete against other players and become the champion of Bremen! Hosted by Hegarty's Irish Pub in collaboration with Chess Bar.

In partnership withChessBar, we’re bringing the love of chess to Bremen’s Viertel. Fast-paced matches against other locals in Bremen, held regularly on Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. Free to play every week!

How it works:

1. Download ChessBar from your app store—it’s free to download and free to use.
2. Create an account with your username and skill level. It takes less than a minute!
3. Use the “Find a chess event...” search bar to locate Hegarty’s Irish Pub. Reserve your spot by “joining” a specific Thursday. 
4. Show up just before 7:00 p.m. All you’ll need is your phone—we’ll take care of the rest. Bring your passion for chess and your drive to dominate on the board.
5. Compete weekly against other players to earn points over a three-month season. At the end of the season, we’ll crown a Bar Champion.

Why chess?
Pubs have a long tradition of being “Third Places”: somewhere outside of home or work, where people can gather to relax, connect, and enjoy their free time. That’s why we’ve always offered events like English-Language Pub Quizzes, Traditional Music Nights, Weekend Live Music, and plenty of live sports from around the globe! So when ChessBar reached out looking for a partner venue in Bremen, it was an instant, “All right, let’s do this!” We’re excited about this new series and hope you’ll join us!
