In the organizer's words:
Gerhard has been firmly in the saddle of his mountain bike for over twenty years. Alongside cycling, the mountains are his second passion. The symbiosis of both takes him where often only mountaineers can be found: to the highest mountains on earth. He takes us into the thin air of the mountain giants of Africa - Mt. Kenya and Kilimanjaro - to sacred volcanoes in the Atacama Desert in Chile and to the "mountain of mountains", K2 in Pakistan. Captured in breathtaking photographs, he shares impressive biking moments.
