Blurred Vision - Soundsystem Culture Festival

In the organizer's words:

Munich bass lovers know Blurred Vision: the sound system format from Schlachthofbronx and Elemental Wave. On November 14, there will now even be an upgraded festival version, ideal for immersing yourself in bass culture with all its exciting ramifications in the current club world. The line-up will therefore be cross-genre and range from grime to dubstep to experimental club music from Africa; from jungle to dub, from baile funk to hip hop, from dancehall to techno, so a lot is possible. International headliners and local heroes from Munich will play on two floors, powered by massive Munich sound systems for a crisp bass experience.

Tickets:
DICE and EVENTIM or Box Office.

Admission and supporting program from 8 pm, music program from 10 pm.

Lineup:

SICARIA
DJ TRAVELLA
MEG10
SCHLACHTHOFBRONX
GHOST DUBS
DANNY SCRILLA
ELEMENTAL WAVE SOUNDSYSTEM
BUSY BANDULU SOUND
SIS D
DJ TABIBI
ALPINE FAMILY SOUNDSYSTEM

SICARIA is at the forefront of the global dubstep renaissance, playing her checked-out yet always massively danceable sound full of tasteful wobble and bass at the world's biggest festivals and on a par with her colleagues Mala and Skrillex.

DJ Travella has long outgrown the sound system block parties in Tanzania with his unique, turbo-charged club take on fast and melodic Singeli music, and after co-signs from Arca & NyegeNyege, among others, is now touring the world in the A-league of avant-garde clubs.

MEG10 brings her bass-driven vision of club music from Berlin - she is known from China to the USA for her polyrhythmic sets between hip-hop & electronic and has already curated stages at Fusion, Melt! and Splash Festival with her style-defining and decidedly femme-focused event series & platform called Hoe_mies.

Schlachthofbronx as local heroes and Munich's international bass figurehead will of course also be there and, as always, celebrate the shared low-end ecstasy on a rollercoaster ride through genres, tempos and club aesthetics off the beaten track.

Ghost Dubs is the new alias of Stuttgart-based dub veteran Jah Schulz, with whom he is now releasing innovative and hypnotic hybrids between drone, dub techno and bass experimentation on The Bug's Pressure label - and of course he's also got his new highly acclaimed album with The Bug in his luggage!

Munich-based Danny Scrilla is more at home in the UK, where he regularly releases on the most important leftfield club labels, perfecting his trademark sound between breakbeat-driven club tracks and epic synths.

Speaking of perfection - what would a Soundsystem Culture Festival be without - well, great soundsystems! Elemental Wave as the backbone of Blurred Vision is of course set, definitely plays in the European league of the biggest and most sub-bass-powerful systems (as recently at Dub Camp in France), sounds clear & crisp and has endless thrust. Alpine Family Soundsystem will be back at the Cafe, a hyperactive young Munich crew who, between sound support for club nights, trucks at the Krachparade and sound system meetings on Leopoldstraße (!), have also been working on an even bigger expansion stage of their system - we're looking forward to it!

And that's still not all? Yes, Munich is and remains a bass city, and this is also reflected in the multi-faceted line-up of other Munich artists: Sis D stands for dub like few others in Munich, is a selector and sound system activist and also part of the scene-defining Dub Rise Soundsystem. DJ Tabibi can usually be found at the bass infusion in the sauna somewhere between G-Tech and Speed Dembow. Busy Bandulu Sound represents Caribbean music from dancehall & soca to UK club styles, including as residents of HypieHypie. And of course the sound system crews themselves also play sets and show other facets of steppers dub, roots and minimal dubstep - with maximum impact.

All of this is rounded off by a further contextualizing supporting programme on soundsystem culture in the run-up to the event.

Blurred Vision is a full-body bass experience.
