Latin American journalists from the Green Panter Amazonia workshop will report on the climate crisis on the ground - and how we can tackle it. The event will also be available in our livestream on YouTube.
How are local communities and indigenous people in Amazonia defending themselves against land grabbers, loggers and gold miners? What impact will the COP30 Climate Change Conference taking place in November have on the Brazilian host city of Belém and its surroundings? What role does organized crime play in the expanding mining industry and deforestation in the Amazon region? And under what conditions do colleagues on the front line of the climate crisis actually work? Our guests will address these and other questions.
The event will be translated from Spanish and English into German.
The guests are:
🐾 Aramís Castro from Cusco, Peru, works for the investigative media Ojo Público.
