As a composer, Alberto Posadas repeatedly finds his inspiration in disciplines such as mathematics - including in his Königsberg Piano Concerto, whose form is regulated by so-called "Euler circles". In Benjamin Attahir's poetic concerto for cello and orchestra Al Icha , the solo instrument takes the lead. The work is named after the last of the five obligatory Salāt prayers in Islam, with the French composer aiming to musically capture the atmosphere of "immersion in the deep and warm night". The finale of this evening is dedicated to Karl Amadeus Hartmann with his 8th Symphony, the founder of the musica viva concert series, the first concert of which took place on October 7, 1945 in Munich's Prinzregententheater.
