PICK OF THE DAY

In the organizer's words:
Join us at the Colosseum to celebrate the book launch of*And Summer Will Come Again* withauthors Sebastian Becker and Tara-Louise Wittwer! A conversation about a moving book on grief, hope, saying goodbye, and looking toward the future after a loss.
“This book is like sunshine in winter—surprising and comforting. I cried and laughed, and afterward I wanted to tell everyone I love that I love them. Especially those to whom I almost never say it.” Caroline Wahl
When Sebastian Becker was 28, his father died. This loss was the biggest shock of his life. Afterward: silence. Shock.
Since then, many things have been difficult for him, including talking about it. Sebastian searches for words and finds: memories. It is these memories—of bright and dark days—that restore his ability to speak—and as Sebastian begins to tell his story—of buckets full of sunflowers, of colorful socks, green bananas, paywalls in front of obituaries, love, and missing someone—his words are clear and radiant. They all say the same thing: Hi, Dad, we miss you.
And Yet It Will Be Summer Again tellsof saying goodbye. Of time standing still in moments of deepest turmoil. Of time that cannot be made up for. Of compassion. Of being gentle. Of the incomprehensible joy of being alive. About waiting for summer—and about the certainty that this summer will come.
