On Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 17:00, the Kreuzkirche Dresden invites you to a vesper with exquisite choral music.
The musical hour will be performed by the choir of the Dresden University of Church Music, directed by Prof. Stephan Lennig. The choir is made up of students from the university and guests. Its broad repertoire includes a cappella choral works, cantatas and oratorios from all eras. The choir's work regularly includes major concerts, CD recordings and radio broadcasts.
The Vespers program combines works from the Renaissance to the present day. The focus is on works by the masters Adam Gumpelzhaimer and Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina. This is accompanied by motets from the Romantic period by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy and by Andreas Hammerschmidt from the Baroque period. The contemporary motet "Unser Glaube ist der Sieg" by Markus Leidenberger sets a special accent.
The program is complemented by an organ work by Edward Elgar, played by cruciform organist Holger Gehring on the large Jehmlich organ and the participation of Sonja Schubert on the double bass and Friedemann Kleinert on the continuo organ.
Don't miss this special musical experience with a varied program.
