FromSeptember 2 to 17,DIE GOETHE will transform into a gallery for circular design under the theme:Discover materials. Experiment with design. Shift perspectives.
Five Hamburg-based designers—Boldobjects, CIRC&LOV, Bernd Görtz, MycoLutions, and Studio OFFBEAT—will showcase objects and materials that prove: Circular design works and inspires. On display are, among other things, a side table that has traveled across the world’s oceans as a stool, acoustic panels made from fungal mycelium, art objects crafted from reused parquet flooring, and 3D-printed furniture made from a non-toxic, durable, and 100% recyclable material. There’s also a lamp made from paper produced from waste products of kiwi, corn, almonds, lavender, and coffee and cocoa beans. Different materials, different approaches—but always the same question:How can new and durable items be created from what’s already there?
