The 38-year-old performance artist Thomas Bartling invites you to a major retrospective of his life to date! As one of the most provocative voices on the German performance scene, he is known for his trenchant mixture of queer humor, pop-cultural overdrive and sharp social analysis. In this sense, his revue shifts light-footedly between trash and theory, entertainment and exposure, the splendor and misery of queer performance art. Even if you've never heard of Thomas Bartling - it's time to celebrate him! In addition to queer self-discovery, uninhibitedly eccentric stage art and merciless self-irony, Bartling casts his sharp eye on the political in the everyday: What does sipping martinis have to do with critical masculinity? What role does laughing at oneself play in effective empowerment? And what about the future of queer representation on the German stage? One thing is clear: glitter is political and surprisingly delicious. Stirred, Not Straight!
