You give me a reason, something to believe in ...
Why are we putting more and more energy into the digital self instead of meeting ourselves in the here and now? Apart from her two classmates Mats and Lina, Zoe has few friends in class. Online, on the other hand, there is Victor: a sporty, sensitive diplomat's son with a sailing boat. Classmate Lina is blown away - far too good to be true! Victor's attractive sister Moira, on the other hand, quickly turns Mats' head - all in virtual encounters and meetings in digital space via chats, voice messages and social media. In the very real space of friendship, there is one thing above all else between the three of them: jealousy.
"Lina has changed the closed system of the class, affection and aversion have been redistributed, a different energy has emerged, the whole thing has been rewired. Mats, for example, was catapulted away from me, somehow we are now circling on different tracks, there are no more collisions. At least he used to be mean to me. Torturing is also an interaction, a form of affection. A very one-sided one, of course. But I still miss it."
Who am I, apart from the image I create of myself? Perhaps appearances have much less to do with reality than the classmates suspect.
