The New Gospel - Milo Rau
Director Milo Rau stages a biblical play in the Italian city of Matera, where Pier Paolo Pasolini and Mel Gibson shot their famous Jesus films. The leading role is played by Yvan Sagnet, an activist from Cameroon. Sagnet campaigns for the rights of migrants and refugees who are exploited by the corrupt agricultural sector. The documentary accompanies the play and the protests.
