The Philosophy Café offers an opportunity to discuss topics that concern everyone but are not—or are only with difficulty—addressed within the framework of academic philosophy. Without taking a detour through a specific theory, the conversations address people directly, allowing them to use their own life stories as a starting point for reflection. This allows participants to explore the scope of their own thinking. It also enables them to examine various philosophical perspectives in terms of their relevance to their own way of life.
At the Philosophy Café, participants can expect controversial, fair, lively, and stimulating discussions.
At the Philosophical Café, what really matters is the connection between making a claim and justifying it.
At the Philosophy Café, it becomes clear that serious reflection and humor need not be mutually exclusive.
No prior theoretical knowledge is required to participate.
