In the organizer's words:
The 1950s: After years as a prisoner of war, Richard returns to the Ruhr region to be with his family and feels like a stranger among strangers. His children, now grown, are living their own lives: His son Matthias is a big fan of soccer stars whose names he has never even heard of. He’s particularly fond of national team player Helmut Rahn of Rot-Weiß Essen, nicknamed “the Boss.” Rahn has become a surrogate father to him and is now set to play in the World Cup. In Switzerland, the German national team faces a sensational do-or-die match.
