Classic's Not Dead

With "Klassik's Not Dead - DSO Schulmusiken" (formerly: Chamber Music Project), the DSO is directly involved in music education at Berlin schools, including Beethoven-Gymnasium, Canisius-Kolleg, Droste-Hülshoff-Gymnasium, Heinz-Berggruen-Gymnasium and Katholische Schule Salvator. In weekly lessons, members of the orchestra coach chamber music ensembles of all age groups. More than a dozen DSO musicians are now involved in the schools. They act as mentors to the pupils, sometimes for several years, providing advice and support and accompanying the musical process from rehearsing the works to questions of playing technique and chamber music ensemble playing. The results are presented in a public chamber music concert every school year.
