Scenic reading and dance performance with actress Christine Rollar and the "Flora-Kollektiv" (Ini Dill, Camilla Oebel, Anna Städler)
For some years now, the enormous ecological benefits of the Amelanchia lamarckii rock pear have also been recognized in this country. Originally from North America, it has been a valuable source of food for indigenous peoples for thousands of years. The American ecologist and botanist Robin Wall Kimmerer, a member of the Potawatomi Nation, describes the annual miracle when this special plant unfolds its flowering splendor and gives away its tasty, nutritious fruits in late summer. It teaches us not to regard the gifts of nature as dead things or commodities, but as gifts. Kimmerer develops the doctrine of a gift economy that makes our lives richer and makes us aware of our interconnectedness with nature.
The actress Christine Rollar and the dancers of the Flora-Kollektiv interweave texts, motifs and images from this "gentle anti-capitalist manifesto" to create a dance-like, animated and associative visual arc in two locations.
The event will take place in the Hansabibliothek and at the "park.platz von morgen" at Bartningallee 1.
An event organized by interbau e.V. in cooperation with Offen für Kultur as part of the project "die gärten von morgen - erinnern, pflegen, weiterdenken", with the kind support of the Landesdenkmalamt Berlin.
