On the New Fascism – A Reading and Discussion with Eva von Redecker.

A shift to the right is sweeping the globe; everywhere, authoritarian forces are gaining power and influence. And yet the endlessly trotted-out analogies to the Nazi era fall flat: contemporary fascism has taken on a new form that is not easily recognized and even harder to explain. Eva von Redecker reads from her new book, which brings clarity to the diffuse nature of the new fascism and makes it vulnerable to critique. She identifies its core in the invocation of an unconditional claim to ownership, the defense of which stops at nothing.

The discussion will be moderated by theater director Remsi Al Khalisi.
