Long-distance travel, cruises, air travel—vacations leave their mark. But how much of an impact do we really have? And in light of the climate crisis, resource consumption, and political conflicts, can we even still consider travel a purely private matter?

Or is travel more important today than ever before: It brings people together, breaks down prejudices, and creates local economic opportunities.

The discussion evening hosted by Forum Mobilität Dresden promises to be a lively debate: Should we fundamentally change our travel habits—or is vacation a piece of freedom we don’t have to give up?

In this “lower house” debate, you decide for yourselves where you sit—and thus which position you represent. Expert insights and diverse perspectives will be provided by Prof. Dr. Harald Zeiss, Executive Director of the Institute for Sustainable Tourism, Sebastian Klink, General Manager of the Bilderberg Bellevue Hotel Dresden and Chairman of the Dresden Tourism Association, and René Wächtler, Authorized Signatory and Team Leader of Travel Management at Eberhardt TRAVEL.
