The Crafts and Upcycling Academy (huUpA for short) is a hands-on project by kunZstoffe e.V.—your go-to spot in Leipzig for turning so-called “trash” into real treasures. Here, you’ll tinker, experiment, repair, and reimagine. And the best part: All these activities are completely free for you! 🥳✨
📖🪡 Workshop: Bookbinding—Photo Album with a Sashiko Cover
Anyone can pile up phone photos in their memory—but how about a really nice, handmade photo album for your favorite snapshots, vacation memories, or collections of clippings? 📸✂️
In this workshop, you’ll combine two beautiful techniques:
Bookbinding: You’ll learn, step by step, how to turn individual sheets of paper into a sturdy, long-lasting photo album.
The Sashiko technique: You’ll use the traditional Japanese embroidery art of Sashiko to add a really cool, geometric pattern to your album’s fabric cover. 🧵✨
Whether as a personal gift or a treasure chest for yourself—you’re guaranteed to go home with a truly one-of-a-kind creation.
