This afternoon, the band SlideProjection will present their new release "A Hypocrite in Crisis" - a picture book set to music. They will be supported by Yo!Jazz, the oldest band of Bigbandport Hamburg e.V., under the direction of Ken Dombrowski. The musicians of the band SlideProjection will also perform as soloists together with Yo!Jazz.

SlideProjection
SlideProjection is the name of the band led by Ken Dom browski and based in Hamburg. Embedded in an electro-acoustic sound, stylistic contrasts are used musically to reflect social issues in a narrative, provocative and humorous way. The pieces sound experimental yet accessible and offer the audience different perspectives on the conditions of our present.

In their new program "A Hypocrite in Crisis", SlideProjection focuses on man-made climate change and the changing relationship between humans and nature. The question arises as to why we do not act appropriately despite the knowledge of the imminent destruction of the basis of life. The Australian author Ula Martyn-Ellis has written a short story entitled "A Hypocrite in Crisis", which will be set to music as part of the concert.

From lively swing to innovative fusion sounds - Yo!Jazz delivers a dynamic sound of powerful rhythms and gentle melodies - sometimes full of energy, sometimes elegant. Trombonist Ken Dombrowski has been leading the young jazz ensemble at Big Band Port Hamburg e.V. since 2023 and, with around 20 musicians, is constantly providing new impulses, multifaceted and creative, always looking for the best match between solo highlights and collective performance.
