Dreaming Muslim-Jewish Futures | Aktionstag & Städtischer Empfang

The reception will begin at 6.30 pm with a welcome from Ms. Stefanie Jansen, Mayor of the Department of Social Affairs, Education, Family and Equal Opportunities. Afterwards, project coordinators Leyla Jagiella and Dr. Esther Graf will provide insights into this year's work of "AufBruch" and discuss the question: "Why is it important to dream new Jewish-Muslim futures?" together with participants of the day of action. This will be followed by a musical performance by the Oriental Music Academy Mannheim, accompanied by Amnon Seelig, cantor of the Jewish community of Mannheim. The reception will be rounded off with a meal, dancing and a get-together. Free admission, registration is not required.

This reception will be preceded by an exciting day of action: from 2 p.m., Edan Gorlicki (INTER-ACTIONS Heidelberg) invites you to an interactive exercise and talks about the impact of global and local conflicts on artistic work and how art can create new perspectives. From 3.30 pm, visitors will dream up new possibilities for Jewish-Muslim futures together. Sapir von Abel (Jewish Museum Munich, ausARTen) and Erkan Inan (ausARTen), among others, will offer their expertise. And from 5 p.m., Medhat Aldaabal and Ali Hasan will get visitors moving with dabke dances.
