Ein Abend der Klangkunst in der Kreuzkirche: Die Wuppertaler Kurrende zu Gast

On Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 5:00 pm, experience a vesper that combines musical epochs and is ennobled by the pure radiance of boys' singing. The renowned Wuppertal Kurrende, one of the country's leading boys' choirs, will be making a guest appearance in the venerable Kreuzkirche Dresden and presenting a program full of spiritual depth and impressive versatility.

Under the dedicated direction of Lukas Baumann and accompanied on the organ by KMD Jens-Peter Enk, the choir unfolds a broad spectrum of a cappella works and pieces with organ accompaniment. The program begins with the solemn sounds of Adoramus te, Christe by Théodore Dubois and the heartfelt supplicatory motet If ye love me by Renaissance master Thomas Tallis. This is followed by the poignant song of Simeon from the Nunc dimittis by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy (Lord, now you let your servant depart in peace), a work that impressively demonstrates the Romantic soul and Mendelssohn's masterful handling of the sacred.
