The Escher Straße stop was opened in 1974 and is a rare example of a Cologne elevated station in the style of the 1970s: exposed concrete, clear axes, open platforms. 50 years later, we celebrate its special architecture, one year late, similar to the eternal KVB minute - and the people who wait there every day.

The art intervention "Escher50plus1" invites you to consciously experience waiting and boredom and to look at them in a new way. For one evening, the station becomes an artistic experience:

• Installation "schöner warten" by Armin Nagel

• Video performance "Treppe " - documentation of a 21-hour performance

• Acting interventions on the platforms with Kristin Geßner, Mirjam Radovic, Jutta Dolle and Gianluca Mangione

• Bellboys look after passengers, carry suitcases and bring back humor and small gestures of service

"Escher50plus1" is an aesthetic, performative commentary on public transport, neglected architecture and the art of waiting. Free admission, no registration required.
