FSFF 2026 Steamboat Cruise
A once-in-a-lifetime experience!
Only at the Five Lakes Film Festival.
On September 7, 2026, the famous Five Lakes Film Festival steamboat cruise will take place. Filmmakers, audiences, and the festival team will gather for a three-hour, once-in-a-lifetime experience aboard the MS Starnberg as it glides across Lake Starnberg.
If the weather is nice, enjoy the view of the lateral moraine landscape surrounding Lake Starnberg all the way to the Zugspitze. Look forward to a winning film from the 2026 short film competition and a movie quiz hosted by festival director Matthias Helwig.
The highlight, aside from the fantastic atmosphere, is the 100-year-oldsilent comedy *THE GENERAL* (1926) by and starringBuster Keaton, the great American actor, comedian, and film director—once again fast-paced and full of gags, and a must-see whether you’re watching it for the first time or revisiting it. As the live music plays, the black-and-white images are reflected in the waves of the lake.
At the end of the steamboat cruise, you’re simply captivated by the experience. The lights of Starnberg glisten on the water. A wonderful evening and a unique boat ride have come to an end.

Price information:
Ticket price: 50.00 euros (includes champagne reception, steamboat cruise, and program) Tickets can be purchased online at www.fsff.de or during regular business hours at the Breitwand Kinos in Gauting, Starnberg, and Seefeld. Food and beverages are not included in the price and can be purchased separately from the ship’s restaurant.
