Expeditionen ins junge Figurentheater 2025 – Tag 3

The expeditions into young puppet theater will take place from October 8-12. The full program is now online and advance ticket sales are open!

We can expect 16 different pieces by students and graduates from Stuttgart and Berlin, the Czech Republic, Belgium, France, Hong Kong and Switzerland. From short plays to full-length premieres, the program offers a broad insight into current developments in the young international puppet theatre scene.

19:00 Gut feeling - Zoé Broneer [Stuttgart]

When a scientist gives a lecture on the digestive system, the model intestine on her dissection table forces her to abandon scientific theory and confront the flesh of her own body. The lecture becomes a dancing game with the intestine.

19:30 & 20:45 Don't Kiss Me I'm In Training - Mara Jawetz [Stuttgart]

Alternating between three contradictory characters - a sad clown, a drag king and a daughter - showing different sides of an identity that can never come together. The world is divided into three parts.

19:30 & 20:45 Train by Train - Maria-Vittoria Zinoni [Berlin]

The smoke here is not for obfuscation. In it, two fates converge and consume each other, step by step.

20:15 Ein-Klang später - Anna-Maria Shawky [Stuttgart]

"Everything you know melts away like snow. Everyone you love, grass will grow above..." the performer sings a song about death. With her on stage is an old woman, a doll, who also arrives at the end of her life at the end of the song. Together they explore the transition, the boundaries and spaces between life and death.

21:30 & 22:00 fly with u - Akira Schroth [Berlin]

I like sunflowers. Sunflowers are my favorite flowers. When I arrived in Germany 35 years ago, I was always tired. I was given the hot tip that this might be due to a lack of sunshine and that I should put cut flowers, e.g. sunflowers, in my room. Just because of the psychosomatic effect.
You gave me the hot tip, Sunny.

21:30 & 22:00 Olive - Flora Brunie [France]

Olive is a young woman who has been reported missing. The investigation into her disappearance begins. The audience is immersed in the intimacy of her apartment, where she appears as a strange, ghostly doll. Her case is told to us through a nightmarish analog radio, which imposes itself as the main character of the play and is brought to life through light and sound. A horror puppet show.

22:30 Ř.I.P. - 666 entertainment [Czech Republic]

In the fairy tale "The Turnip", grandfather planted a small seed in his garden, from which sprouted a tiny, adorable red turnip that grew and grew. Its roots penetrated deep into the soil and awakened life even in the distant, dark layers of the earth where no ray of sunlight had ever reached. It grew in size, strength and intelligence. Round, red, juicy, getting bigger and bigger, fleshy. Who will win? Who is the invader here? Who really owns this land? And who will defend their position?

666 entertainment is a creative collective founded by students from the Department of Alternative Theater and Puppetry at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (DAMU).
