Familientag. Surreale Welten: Eine Reise ins Land der Träume

Magic, dreams and fantasy are the focus of this family day of friends at Museum Ludwig.
We will dive into the world of surrealism, an art movement that originated in Paris about 100 years ago and still fascinates us today.

The term "Surrealism" comes from the French and means something like "above the real", that is, the real.
The artists of this era were guided in their creative process by their dreams, desires or even fears, which often lay dormant in the depths of the subconscious.

During guided tours for young and old, we get to know the multifaceted works of Max Ernst and, probably the most famous surrealist artist, Salvador Dalí. "The Station of Perpignan" is the title of the popular Dalí painting, which is part of the collection of the Museum Ludwig and always fascinates visitors. But how much of a train station is there really in this painting? And where is Perpignan actually located? We would like to search for answers to these and other questions together with you.

Inspired by the great role models, we will then get creative in the museum studio. Here you can try out some of the surrealists' popular techniques and create your own work of art, or take part in an exciting quiz for the whole family and win great prizes!
