Fête de la Musique

Just in time for the start of summer on June 21, the Fête de la Musique is back in the gardens of the Centre Français. Thanks to the support of the Franco-German Youth Office, the State of Berlin and the State Sports Youth, the CFB is hosting this event for the 15th time. As always, admission is free.

This year's Fête is taking place as part of the Euro24 program on sustainability and inclusion. Therefore, wheelchair basketball will be offered in the parking lot of the center and supervised by pfeffersport e.V.. In view of the Olympic Games in Paris, there will be a unique "Olympic Village for Children", where a mini-Olympics for children and families will take place with hands-on games. From 9 p.m. you can also watch the European Championship match between France and Holland live in the City Kino Wedding.

The DFJW and the Center will also be providing information about current projects. In addition to various drinks stands, "Chez Gustave" will be taking care of the culinary highlights: Crêpes/galettes, ice cream, merguez and assiettes apéritif will be sold this year on the terrace in front of the CFB, among other things.

Of course, music will be at the heart of the event. We start with "Boxi Barré", who have made the long journey from Friedrichshain to us in Wedding. The likeable quartet say they play "children's songs for adults" - definitely danceable!!! The Berlin one-offs around Schlott, Werner, Kuchenbecker and Heat make handmade music you can touch. Afterwards, the international combo "Atomic Fruit" will perform. Atomic Fruit combine trip-hop with psychedelic rock, electronic moments with guitar riffs and stand for musically sophisticated music. From around 18:30, the ska combo Ginsengbonbons, who have been playing concerts all over the world for over 25 years and have amassed quite a fan base over the years, will play. After three albums and several sampler contributions, more than 370 national and international shows, they still play their concentrated, danceable mixture of offbeat, rock and snotty punk. This year's main act will be the 25-piece collective "Kama Orchestra" from Potsdam, starting at 20h. The KAMA Orchestra is the elephant in the china store of the German brass scene. The collective stirs up its very own brass groove from global beats, funk, jazz and electronic club sounds. With a powerful brass section and a driving rhythm section, this solar-pink glittering good-mood machine brings every place to the boil.

Young and old, en famille, with friends or alone - come in large numbers to our traditional - but as always very modern - fête to celebrate the start of summer together!
