Thomas "Eichi" Eichstätt coaches the soccer team FC Pio in the small town of Torgelow in eastern Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Many of the young players have fled their home countries and are struggling with finding a job, acceptance and their past. Eichi is a father figure for many of them, but he also looks back on a dark time as a right-wing extremist. A documentary about what it means to build bridges and find a new place in life.

Loraine Blumenthal studied documentary film at the University of Bristol. Since then she has worked in Berlin as a director, writer and producer with a strong eye for in-depth storytelling. Loraine is an alumna of the IDFAcademy and is looking forward to talking to you!
