Film screening of "Sisterqueens" for World Girls' Day at BüzE Cologne
Building alliances, making an impact: Why intersectional girls' work must be thought of across sectors!
For this year's World Girls' Day on October 11, the Bürgerzentrum Ehrenfeld (BüzE), together with FemFilme and the film team, invites you to a special event: The multi-award-winning documentary "Sisterqueens" by Clara Stella Hüneke will be shown.
The film follows friends Jamila (9), Rachel (11) and Faseeha (12), who are part of the "Sisterqueens" rap project in Berlin's Wedding district. Under the guidance of experienced artists, they learn to celebrate themselves, express themselves and actively stand up against injustice. Over the course of several years, an intimate and empowering picture emerges of three young girls* who go their very own way - and not least challenge the male-dominated rap world in the process.
The screening will be followed by a moderated discussion. Entitled "Building alliances, making an impact: Why intersectional girls' work needs to be thought about across sectors", guests from politics, culture, youth work will discuss what girls* work can look like today - and what role networking, artistic projects and intersectional perspectives play in this.
The event is free of charge, snacks and drinks will be provided!
Come along and look forward to an evening full of inspiration, empowerment and exchange - not only for girls*, but for everyone who is committed to justice, participation and strong young voices.
